Families 2000 strengthens families through skills development and parent-child interactions.

The mission is to provide the information, support, and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life. Boys & Girls Clubs Families 2000 is a “Parent as Teachers” affiliate, which believe in a parent’s ability to guide their children to learn, grow, and develop to their full potential. We help prepare children age newborn to three for the academic system through family empowerment strategies such as enhancing parenting skills, counseling, home visitation, healthy living skills, developmental screening and creative activities to empower families to manage everyday life changes. There are no fees associated with participation in this program.

This program is funded by the Illinois State Board of Education.
